What does Blissology mean to you?
Blissology, to me, is the art and science of Connection. Connecting to my ‘true self’ or to that ‘space’ within in me that is the same space in my loved ones, community and surrounding nature.  Ultimately it is an honest expression of living love healthy and allowing our natural JOY BODY to emerge!

What are 2 of your favorite songs for yoga?
Silence & sounds of nature: birds, ocean waves & breath.

What books are you reading?
“Ask & It is Given”, “Untethered Soul.”

Why do you yoga?
To help me live and carry out my life purpose or dharma to my highest potential. Yoga helps me live in the present and connect with that space inside that is love, truth, self, source (or whatever you want to label that feeling as) and therefore feel the connection with the world around me so that ultimately I feel & share love, joy, health and truth.

I’d like to also share “My Yoga Journey” that explains why I first started practicing, and how the reason has evolved over the years.

How do you share Blissology with your community?
I connect as authentically as I can with my community and continually practice being fully present & loving with any interaction I have, whether it be while teaching a blissology inspired yoga class, guiding a meditation practice, educating about food awareness, working with a client one on one helping them optimize their health or recover from an injury or imbalance, interacting with the sales clerk at the grocery or bank teller, or offering one of my workshops or being a guest speaker at an event where I discuss the true meaning of health and wellness and how yoga, meditation, nature appreciation, bringing more joy into your life, gratitude and nourishment are all essential parts of living a healthy lifestyle.

With the work that I do in the community and abroad, I passionately share the message of what overall health and well being really means: addressing all of our koshas: physically (includes food high on Pranameter!), mentally, emotionally, energetically & spiritually; sharing the many ways that people can incorporate nourishing these layers in their lifestyle.

Gratitude, Nature Appreciation, Hammock Enlightenment, Dancing, Hugging and encouraging and promoting more Joy Body in our lives are all a part of my offerings whether it is during work related activities or in social settings.

Blissology Living is always a part of my message, no matter where I go, what I’m doing, or who I’m with.

Where in the world can we find you?
When not gypsying around the world and/or chasing Eoin’s wanderlust for hosting 500hr YTT modules in tropical surf locations you will find me settling back into New Zealand after many years of living abroad in Europe and North America! I’m so blessed to be the first Blissology inspired teacher in Aotearoa (Said Aotea—roa). This is the Maori word for New Zealand, which is often translated as the Land of the Long White Cloud)…!’

What studio do you teach at?
I’m teaching corporate yoga at several locations around town and have just picked up a class one of New Zealand biggest Universities (www.facebook.com/rebeccaagent). When I’m not teaching I’m working on Mala Earth (www.malaearth.com) and exploring many of the amazing studios and teachers around Auckland, supporting and learning from all these talented guides we have down-under!

What is your life mission?
To love fully and live an inspired life…!! .. If I’m honest, it feels so strange to see this in print! I have begun to chase my dreams, which it’s not always glamorous but is incredibly fulfilling to live with purpose and passion and at the end of the day I want to inspire others to do the same in their own lives, from this place collectively we can change the world

What are 3 projects that you are up to?
This is an interesting question because as an ex-corporate and Project Manager by ‘trade’ I always gravitate to having a few projects on the ‘go’ at anyone time. Right now a few biggies are: 1) Mala Earth www.malaearth.com An online store with of beautiful Malas sourced from my travels around the world. We are based in Auckland, New Zealand and shipping worldwide – Mala Earth is a concept inspired by a love for yoga, sustainability, living an authentic and mindful life. This is jewellery for your soul. 2) Build my knowledge as a Yoga Teacher www.facebook.com/rebeccaagent This is totally inspired by Blissology and my deep desire to live a healthy sustainable life, also the connection and love I have to nature when practicing yoga outside. 3) Rebecca Agent www.rebeccaagent.com yikes! This is my attempt to get online figure out the world of social media and blogging…

What does Blissology mean to you?
Nature, Connection, Love, Community, Exploration, Learning. Blissology for me has been a cracking open from the inside out… I carry with me daily Eoin’s mantra of “Nothing to prove, everything to share”

What are 2 of your favorite songs for yoga?
– ‘For What it’s Worth by Buffalo Springfield’ – A track I first heard played by Dj Drez in a Meghan Currie flow class at Wanderlust Whistler 2011, it’s continues to be a favourite
– ‘Gooey by Glass Animals’ – A track that continues to bring me back to the amazing journey that was my Blissology yoga teacher training in Bali 2014.

I love that music is a thread that can take you back to so many memories, happy, sad and otherwise and becomes a new thread creating new memories within this moment… How lucky we are in our work, where we become the mixmaster that can thread these experiences and memories together for ourselves and our students…

What books are you reading?
– Girl Boss by Sophia Amoruso, a Christmas present from my brother. Written by a kickass female entrepreneur who is the head of a $350m fashion empire, and started her entrepreneurial journey as a young rebel selling used vintage clothing on eBay.
– Pilgrimage by  Paulo Coelho, I’m re-reading a book which inspired the naming of one of Mala Earth’s beautiful Rudraksha and Turquoise Malas called the Pilgrimage Mala (http://www.malaearth.com/collections/necklaces/products/pilgrimage-mala). This piece protects us on our travel adventures and represents the spiritual journey of life.

Why do you yoga?
I practice yoga because I’ve realised that I am happiest when I move my body. I love to ski, surf, run, swim and play so yoga infuses all these elements and provides permission for me to be an explorer of a deeper realm of both outside and inside of myself.

You can find contact info and more from this lovely yogini at www.rebeccaagent.com and www.malaearth.com

Fire only burns as bright as there are flames to continue keeping it alive. Our Blissology Yoga Teacher’s Collective is burning bright and we are so excited to share the first of our Bliss Blogs on some of the amazing spirits and shining lights who are continuing to speak, connect and inspire their Bliss.

Where in the world can we find you?
Hood River, OR (in the Columbia River Gorge one hour from Portland).

What studio do you teach at? (your schedule please!)
Root Down Yoga.  I currently teach 5 classes a week, including power vinyasa and a slower flow called “Unwind.” You can find schedule details at gorgepoweryoga.com

What is your life mission?
To inspire presence and courage to make meaningful connections with each other and nature.

What are 3 projects that you are up to?
1) Learning to surf a shortboard. It is so humbling and a constant reminder of the importance of balancing effort and surrender.
2) Converting a van my husband and I just purchased into a mobile camper for snowboard and surf missions (see Project 1!)
3) Developing a yoga class series for victims of trauma (to be co-led with a friend who is a mental health counselor).

What does Blissology mean to you?
So much more than yoga!  It’s recognizing the possibility of peace and happiness in each of us, and an approach for connecting to that peace and happiness through mindful, intentional living – the asana is simply part of that approach.  And importantly it’s not just a “close your eyes and find zen” philosophy; Blissology celebrates interconnection, not isolation.

What are 2 of your favorite songs for yoga?
Finding and choosing music for class is an aspect of teaching I really enjoy.  I discovered East Forest when he played for Eoin’s class at Wanderlust and his work is fantastic (especially live!). I use Toad Lick often, but he has countless other songs perfect for a more mellow mood and savasana.  Another current favorite for vinyasa is Blood Flow by Ritual.

What books are you reading?
I’m in the midst of re-reading two favorites. The Fear Project by Jamal Yogis is a really interesting examination of the ways we experience and overcome fear (with an emphasis in the context of surfing).  The other is fiction: A Constellation of Vital Phenomena by Anthony Marra. It’s a beautifully written heartbreaker about the power of love.

Why do you yoga?
When I first came to yoga I was a stressed-out attorney and my mat was my escape and way to find calm and grounding.  As my practice and lifestyle have evolved (I no longer practice law), I see the calm and centeredness as my true nature, not just a fleeting feeling I only experience for hour-long pockets of time.  So I yoga regularly to stay in touch with that essence.  That gives me greater clarity about myself and others, and then I’m in a mindset to really appreciate what I’m doing and what’s around me, be it riding powder through trees on my snowboard or walking my dog in the rain.  I can see the practice ripple out in my relationships and I value how powerful it is.

How do you share Blissology with your community?
Through my practice and my teaching, which are both very Blissology-inspired.  I’m lucky to live in a place where nature appreciation is easy – when we find tadasana in class we can actually look at a mountain, and feel fluidity in our movement like the river that flows before us.  And I really try to foster a Blissology vibe in class – we laugh, smile, high five and appreciate who we’re practicing alongside.
