Yoga Journal: Eoin Finn’s Dedication to Save Our Oceans
Eoin Finn is like the Thoreau of yoga: As founder of the Blissology school of yoga, which centers on the simple idea of sharing happiness, he believes that to find bliss you must “seek quiet solitude in nature, and your heart will become clear.” In 2014, he launched the Blissology Eco Karma Project, whose mission is to restore coral reefs.

“You’ve probably experienced greater ease and a sense of rejuvenation after being outside, and maybe you’ve had your breath taken away or felt deep delight while gazing at a scenic view or garden full of flowers.
More rarely and for fewer of us, being outside has given rise to spiritual experiences that we describe as a sense of being connected with all life everywhere or the feeling that the earth itself has a soul.”

“Ultimately, the philosophy is what it is all about though. The idea is that there is a place inside of us that is very loving and realizes that in a profound way we are intimately connected to all life. In Blissology Yoga, we are continuously mining for that place. In our physical yoga practice we try and balance out this nurturing side of ourselves with the more driven side of ourselves, aka the ego. Every yoga pose is a balance between these two polarities. The ideal balance is struck when we know how to motivate ourselves and work hard but know when to back up and nurture ourselves.”
